I gave my 2 hens their First dose valbazen on Saturday. Dipped in permethrin on Monday . The second dose/dip of both things will be next Tuesday. 1 year old choc Orpingtons. Is that too much at same time!?

I put 4 gallons water with 5 Tbsp permethrin 10 into a 5 gal bucket. One at a time I slowly lowered a chicken down into it up to their neck almost to the ears but not get the ears or face in. Then I lifted them out and pat dry with a towel. It was a nice warm sunny day so they dried nicely.

Did you get all the way to the skin?

They were thoroughly soaked yes. That was the idea. They are Orpingtons and soooo fluffy it’s hard to do dust or just spray. The “dip” was a good soaking. I held them in there for a good half minute or so. I don’t think They are water proof like my ducks lol .
