Can chickens have dehydrated greens?

I dehydrate excess garden items such as herbs and collard greens. I get tons of collards and they dehydrate quickly and I crush them up and vacuum seal them in canning jars using my Foodsaver. I've found that I can use these crushed greens in soups, stews and rice dishes very nicely. I dehydrate lots of other veggies and fruits as well but I was wondering if chickens would eat these crushed greens. I have a ton of dried oregano, sage, mint, bee balm, collards and even some cabbage. Any thoughts?

I don't see why not. If you're concerned, rehydrate them first.

I've not done collard, but I dehydrate spinach all the time. I love to sprinkle it on pizza, pasta, casseroles, whatever!

It doesn't matter where you post really. It'll get you an answer. This is a great site. Keep posting and find friends. What state are you from. I'm NW Louisiana. Go to Social forum and look up Where are you thread. Pick your state and start posting. Really some good threads on fermenting your feed. Lots of extra nutrients and saves money on feed. Come see us. Beekissed makes a good mentor for all questions. Her main thread is Fermenting feeds for Meat Birds. Also has one for fermenting feeds for layers. On the looooong threads I just read 15-20 pages then go to the back 30 pages or so. Gets all the info you need to get started on any big thread. Good luck. Keep going Maisy.

Thank you so much Linda! I have been reading the forum for quite some time and, as you said BeeKissed is great for so many questions for newbies. I had already planned to ferment my chicken's food (I ferment lots of my own stuff) and also plan to do some forage with sprouting wheat and other seeds.

I will go to to Where Are You forum as you suggested (I'm in west central Florida). That is a great suggestion! Thank you for taking the time to help this newbie!
