Can chickens navigate OK walking on wire fabric with 1/2" mesh?
The reason I ask is that I'll have about a 2' "tunnel" between the coop and the secured run. Tunnel will have a roof (to match the coop and run) and wire fabric on the sides.
I've been pondering what to do for a floor for the tunnel. Thought about a solid wood floor then I thought why not wire fabric with 1/2" mesh? Any dirt, bedding or poop can fall on thru! And I would not have to make the roof removable to enable cleaning of the tunnel!
If wire fabric is not good for a floor then perhaps a plywood floor that slides out into the secured run for cleaning would work? Designed some how so varmints couldn't push it up to gain access.
