SO, I have a weird EE pullet. She loves to arrange the straw in the nest boxes and arranges all 4 boxes at least once per day. OCD bird. She's been doing this for weeks and only just started laying a few days ago.
Today, I saw her arranging and then she stopped suddenly and hopped down. She ran outside, took a big poop, and then went back to work finishing her straw arranging. It looked very intentional. Now, I know broody hens avoid pooping in their nest so I might expect her to poop outside of the boxes when she's tending them like that but no, she left the coop to go! She's always been a bit odd so nothing ought to surprise me about crazy Gertie but geez.
