Can chicks and ducklings be raised in the same brooder?

I just got 5 day-old ducklings and 4 day-old chicks. All supposedly sexed as female. I have made the water accessible to all but in such a way that the ducklings can not make a huge mess. I have the kind of heater that they snuggle under with plenty of space to get away from each other. Any benefits/risks I am not thinking about? I don't really have the space to brood them separately. Once they are bigger and can join my older flock they will have all the separate room they want/need.
