I will be bringing home baby chicks from my son's kindergarten class in about 3 weeks (so excited!). I'm new to this, but already have the brooder ready to go, and DH has started on the coop! The chicks will be about 10 days old when they come home. Can chicks drink from a chicken nipple, or do they need an open container of water? I will be gone during most weekdays, and I don't want them drinking dirty water (I've read that it gets dirty fairly quickly). What about something like a rabbit water feeder? Do these leak? If I build a waterer with a nipple, will the chicks figure it out? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
