Can depression cause Sour Crop?

Sure i can do that, but all my chickens have always eat that, what can be causing it now?
The layer feed is specially formulated as a balanced diet.
Every time you offer something besides that feed you are taking away from that bird getting a balanced diet.

It is possible these birds that are currently dying are the ones that are eating way too much of all the extra and not enough of the balanced feed.

Eating all of this extra and not a balanced feed has an extremely high chance of them becoming overweight which will cause problems.

How old are your birds?

The ones who passed away 10 and 9 months, and they were not overweight.

I live in Portugal, EU.
Most vets around here only know about dogs and cats, and have no idea how to treat a hen... I guess since many people dont see them as pets, if they get sick they cull them, end a story, vets dont see business in it...

Anyway, with no alternatives, not really wanting to, but knowing i had to do it, if i wanted to know what happend to this hen, and thinking about all the others, i decided to do the post-mortem myself.

Note: I never did a post-mortem, never opened a chicken, and exept from opening and cut wild boars i hunt, did not had a clue how to do it, i have a scalpel, scissors, forceps, etc, because in the past ive been a paramedic. So i basicly opened the hen, trying not to do a mess, and took the organs out the best i could, take pictures of them, then cut open the organs and took more pics. And looked to find something odd in the process.
Then i puted everything back inside, stitched her, and gave her a proper burial, in my chicken graveyard.

The hen was an Orpington Lavender born in 15/04/2021, so basicly 9 and half months old.
The body weight was 3515g, before the post, and had died 12 hours before, as far i could tell from sufocation.
I took out the feathers, from her crop to her vent, and the first thing, i noticed was that in her belly, between her legs, the feathers were coming out together with pieces of skin, and some yellow flesh. In the rest of her body, nothing like this happend.

Then tryed to take all the organs out, the best i could, the thing that looked most strange to me, was the liver, it was very soft and mushy, i could tear it appart with my hands.

Intestines, crop content, ovary etc, i took a pic, then i cuted the intestines in several places, and took pics of the content, but in my ignorant opinion they looked more or less empty, when i squized them, some green content came ou in one spot, and yellow in another.
