Can domestic geese fly?

My friend has a goose and its white with a bit of grey... Its not a toulouse or any other very fat and big breed she's an original ordinary breed... and she flies pretty well she reaches 2 meters high and for 10 meters easily with out a lot of flapping in the air and if she was chased by the kids she would fly for more distance!!! and also our neighbors have geese(domestic) that are white and grey and fly well!! So why all articles on net say that domestic geese can't fly?? and everyone who has geese told me that they can fly fairly well!!

MOST domestic breeds dont fly at all. Sounds like those geese you are referring to are a barnyard mix light enough to take flight.

Yes I think so and they are not show breeds or only egg production breeds!!!

geese arent bred into egg production breeds, they are seasonal layers only. Ducks however many breeds have been created to be strong layers, or good meat birds.
