ok so i have 2 ducklings that are about 2 weeks old. (i have more ducks but they are in a different coop).
once i move them out of the brooder can they stay in the pigeon coop with my one pigeon? i feel like this is a great idea because 1) the pigeon gets some friends until we can find an adoptable pigeon (the one we wanted sadly is too sick to adopt) and 2) the small ducks get a coop where they don’t get picked on 3) the big ducks don’t have to share space/have less space and they don’t like the babies anyways
the pigeon coop is big enough that both ducklings and the pigeon will have enough room.

here are my questions... 1) will they fight? (female pigeon) and 2) how old do they need to be to be about the same size as a pigeon, they are khaki campbell :)

Yes but it needs to be completely covered with a soft netting
They can drink out of the pool but I'd also put 1-2 clean waterers on the sides out of the ducks reach
Pigeons need pigeon food
If you want pigeons then you need lots of roosting spots (trees, sticks), ledges (pieces of 2x4 cut on the side - pigeons Like to lay down too), and several nest boxes (not required but they like to choose their own nesting box and sometimes it's not where you want it ;p )
You don't want frill backs, fantails, etc. if you want them to co-inhabit you will need them to be able to fly well.
And they will breed, fast. You'll want to use some dummy eggs from then and now (if you never let them breed they'll freak and try over and over and over)
Pigeons life -
'Born'
'Eat, eat and eat'
'Fly, eat some more'
'Eat, fined a mate'
'Breed. Breed breed'
'Die'
They pretty much have a sole purpose to eat and breed

Several pairs can live in an aviary, but you don't want brother sister mating (50% of clutches will be a male and a female) so you may have to invest in more pigeons or sell them.

Best of luck!

we already have the pigeon coop fully made and only have one pigeon so there won’t be any mating. her friend (6 year old rescue pigeon) recently passed away so we are looking for another female but can’t find any at the moment. the pigeon food will be high and so will her waterer and the ducks will have their own food and water. we just want to put the ducks in there so she has some company in the mean time, and the ducklings and big ducks don’t have to split the duck coop. how old should they be? we were thinking about moving them and their brooder in next week and then letting them have free range (of the coop) starting a week after that

I don't have Pigeons, but keeping them with duck's does not sound like a good idea to me. They both have very different living requirements and i would think the ducks might harass the pigeons too. Just like with most birds, they need at least one of the same species to live happy/healthy lives. So I would advise against keeping just one.

I could tell you with confidence my ducks would try to eat a pigeon-like its a grasshopper.

the pigeon would have an area to get away from the ducks, and once the ducks are fully grown they’ll be moved to a different coop. we are looking for another pigeon to adopt but can’t find one (we might be able to get one in a month but it’s being quarantined for any health issues since it got rescued off the streets)
