My ducks (crested rouen colored male, matching uncrested female and a magpie male) are being wintered in a small pen in the barn. I was very surprised today to find a nest of 12 eggs. She must have covered them all this time as I never saw them until today. Wondering as they still have a small heated bowl to drink out of if the eggs could be fertile. Don't ducks breed in the water? I haven't seen any mating activity during chores. Ducks belong to my 5 yr old grandson and he will be some excited if baby ducks are possible.
!!! The ducks should be fine without swimming water.
