I can't really help with your second question as I don't have chickens.
I expect with a waterbucket like mine, they'd be able to drink from it no problem. But a concern would be not having anything big enough that they could land in or get stuck in. Not sure if that is likely to be an issue or not.

Ok, thanks im getting 2 3 gallon rubber tubs that are not as deep, but deep enough for them to dip their heads or swim in.

Do you use plastiv one gallon buckets or metal? I will also be having chickens in the same area, different coops as long as the ducks are female not males. So will the chickens try to get water out of them?

Yes chickens will drink out of buckets or really any open water source. Mine seem to prefer the ducks buckets over chicken waterers.
