can EE chicks be sexed by pattern or wing feathering?

i have different patterns on these chicks, just wondered, was hoping one of these supposed pullets would be a roo? thanks.

No, you cannot sex EEs as chicks by wing feathering or pattern. Since EEs are hybrids produced by crossing blue egg layers which brown egg layers, the offspring can have lots of different patterns. As they grow older and begin developing their combs, males will have much redder combs with three rows of peas in the comb, compared to only a single row of peas for the females (unless it happens to be one of those rare EEs with single combs rather than pea combs). Even in the case of single combs, the combs of the males will grow larger and much redder, much earlier, than those of the females. Also, as they feather out, EE males will sometimes develop reddish patches on the shoulders which never occur with EE females.

thanks, i had an ee hen yrs ago but got her as adult, i have never had chicks before, they were so different i thought mabey there was a pattern, thanks again, they are to cute
