I've got a Muscovy mama who just hatched out seven healthy babies two days ago (right on time at day 35). She's still got seven eggs that have been under her the entire time, and appear to be developed, but she's been a bit distracted with the hatchlings. She's often hovering over the babies, without making contact with the eggs, and I've noticed they have cooled off. I just removed the live babies to give her some time to try and warm the eggs back up.
Is there a chance they may still hatch, if they cooled so late in incubation (potentially for long stretches of time over about 36 hours)? Temperatures have been no lower than 65-70F at night, and I'm pretty sure she's been sleeping on them, at minimum. It's mostly daytime when she hasn't been consistently sitting, but she's back to it, now.
Does anyone have thoughts on whether the eggs have a chance, and how long it's worth waiting? Today is day 37. They were cooled on day 36.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
