I am donating eggs to our school for a classroom to hatch out. Yesterday when I went to gather eggs my broody hen was laying on them. She has a clutch of her own, but I guess she got confused. Did these already start to develop? It would have been eggs laid yesterday morning as we gather everyday. I was planning on keeping them at room temperature and taking them to the school so they can set them all at the same time. I didn't know if they did start to develop and then are put on hold if they would pick back up once they are put in an incubator. I appreciate any advice!

Thank you for your reply. I just don't want to break a bunch of kids hearts! I read where they don't start developing until 16 hours of incubation.

Yep, that's the reason you don't start counting down the days during incubation until 24 hours after they were set.
