She was only about 5 months old in that pic. From the size I would say you have broad breasted. Where did you get them from?

Mine are only 7 1/2 to 8 months old

Yes, hens most definitly can have beards. When I went to buy some hens I was also givin a 30lb "Tom" on the condition that I would never eat "him". The old owners said they new it was a Tom because of the way he would puff up and the beard. I was cool with that, whatever. I didn't really care, I just thought having a turkey was cool. "His" beard was about 3 inches long. The day after we get this turkey home, I go to collect eggs and find a funky large egg that I had really hoped on of my girls hadn't laid. It was just lying on the ground. I finally put two and two together and looked up turkey eggs online and found out my turkey was a hen. I called the old owners and told them and they just flipped! She almost didn't believe me. I told her I'd bring her the egg, and I did. She's a great turkey, we love her.

Thanks Bammony

I guess I'll just have to wait until the Spring to find out for sure exactly what I do have. It's the having to wait is what gets to me

I took a pic of my hen for ya! Her beard had actually fallen out for quite a while but is growing back in now.
