Can fowl get coccidia from goats?

From what I have been reading, it seems coccidia is species specific, but I want to double check on this. We have 4 goats, and it is general knowledge that the adults almost always have coccidia in their stools, just don't get sick like the young ones do. Ours were sick with it right after they came last spring, we treated them, and they have been fine since. The birds will be sharing a barn and pasture with the goats, and I just want to be sure they aren't going to be running a huge risk of getting coccidia. I will be feeding organic, no-medicated feed, so I am trying to be vigilant about what theya re exposed to.

I thought cocci is species specific too. Either way, I bet you have bird cocci in your soil too. Like the goats, the chicks need to build up an immunity and a balance with the environmental and internal cocci. I know I have cocci in the soil here, and I know it is bad, however, I have done medicated and non medicated chicks. Only problem I have ever had myself was when i did not expose the chicks to the soil early enough and they all got sick. I like to let them get dirty and exposed under a few weeks old. The chicks the broody has raised have never been on medicated feed and do just fine. It's the brooder chicks I have to keep an eye out for. The medciated feed only helps them build up an immunity by preventing the cocci from replicating.

Is it really that common in the soil? There haven't been and farm birds on the property in 20 years...do wild birds carry it? You said to expose them under a few weeks old...I thought they needed to stay in the brooder that long to stay warm. So confused!
