Can guinea hens lay more then one egg a day

Typically no, their bodies can only produce one egg a day. Are you positive you have 4 males? Try separating the males and females for a day, in the morning before the Hens normally lay... (can you put the 4 males in a cage inside the coop so there's less flock stress maybe?). That will be a sure way to know if the 4 Hens are laying extra eggs each day or not... and also if any of the 4 that you think are males might actually be Hens.

I have quite a few cranky Hens, so aggression doesn't always indicate the sex of the bird. During breeding season all Guineas can become mean. Hens especially so if they are laying and protecting a nest. Only Hens make the buck-wheat call tho, so that's how I confirm the sex on my Guineas.

What time a day do you collect your eggs? And how many days in a row have you collected 6 eggs a day from your Guineas?

Are you sure your chickens aren't sharing the nests with your Guineas? Are all the eggs shaped the same? If you can, post a pic of the eggs, and your flock.

I have 2 hens, 2 males, I'm getting two eggs each (4 in all) from them, and have been getting that many consistently every day. Especially on the days when they've been locked out of their pen for 2-days or more. I know I have 2/2 because I've locked them apart. Also have cracked open eggs and found partially gestated keets. These girls are HAPPY.

I really need to start breeding some of these hens that lay 2 eggs a day, I could double my money on egg sales!

Here's a pic I recently found posted in another forum section here on BYC, (I think casportpony was the one that posted it, Thanks Kathy!). It very clearly breaks down the timeline of how each egg is formed, explaining each step and how long it takes as the egg is formed.

I have two guinea hens. No males. I got two eggs from them three days ago, two two days ago, and THREE yesterday. Since I only have two guineas there is no other explanation than one of them laid two eggs.

Fascinating!

I know some people will roll their eyes when I say that I had a guinea hen that very rarely laid two eggs in a day. Most of the time she definitely laid only one egg each day, but on a couple of occasions during her laying years, she put out two eggs in less than a 24 hour period. I know they were her eggs because I only had 4 hens, and each hen laid an egg that was unique in shape and size to the guinea hen that laid it. I checked for eggs quite often during the day, and these were not eggs that had been hidden or had been laid on another day. So, I know that laying two eggs in a day can happen. I just don't know HOW it happens. LOL That hen was my best egg layer. She continued to lay into her 9th year.

I have just 2 hens. ONLY 2. This year I learned to keep them in the pen 'till they'd laid their eggs. Funny though, even though I always kept 2 eggs in there marked with an 'X' (seemed to make sure they'd lay there & not out in the woods), I find 3 or 4 eggs a day. Sometimes only 2, but usually 3. I float them so I know they're fresh. Yesterday I completely cleaned their pen. Today there were 2 new eggs in there. Getting ready to leave & heard the black one coo-ing. I went to see. She's sitting on a nest FULL of eggs. So I guess she's been dropping them there on the 1 & 2 egg days.
Everyone tells me it's impossible. But I've got eggs coming out of my ears now!!
Learned to make mayonnaise. Deviled eggs with said mayonnaise for friends, neighbors & church, fancy baked eggs for supper....oh! My! Love my little pterodactyls!
