Can guineas figure out this?

I have guinea eggs due to hatch in a couple of weeks. I am building them a coop and I wondered if I made them a door 2 feet square, 4 feet up from the ground if they could enter and exit through it? I want to do this to keep my dogs out of the coop in the daytime.

It would look something like this:

Also, there would be a landing board at the guinea door so that they could fly to it and then in or out of the coop.

I would think that once they are big enough to go in and out..
set them inside the door so they can see its open. Like in the door fram.. set em on the ledge and they will figure it out.They are pretty smart.

uhh it may take them a while.. but im sure they will figure it out.... i was on a website and the lady had a landing board 6 feet up and they figured out how to use it. so i would imagine they could figure it out.

You mean something like this? I used to do that when my chickens free ranged... The good ole' days.

The chickens figured it out VERY quickly.

Yes, that is what I had in mind. I will have a few chickens in with the guineas so if the guineas have trouble figuring it out maybe the chickens can teach them.
