I have a barnevelder that answers the neighbors rooster.....she is DEFINITELY a she and is going on 5 years old. She sports one big spur and one smaller spur.
The hamburgs I have had all had 2" spurs.
All of them laid eggs regularly. I give a big yes to hens being able to have spurs.
