Can hens REALLY crow? My Pet Chicken say they can in the FAQ. so weird

Ya its so weird but I guess somebody has to lead the flock and be the boss and stuff with no roo to do that or protect em so the hen takes over! hey, theres no mr.roo and somebodys gotta do it and take the lead, take charge! , ya no? lol

That is so weird- one of our girls has started crowing, too. And these are 3-4 year old chickens! We have a Bantam roo who crows every morning, and until last year had a large Buttercup rooster, too, who died. The two boys would duet every morning. Now, just this summer, we have another (has to be hen) who answers Winston's crowing. Well, she sort of croaks, but it has the right cadence for a crow, and it is in answer to the rooster. Who knew?
