So it’s night time and I added 9 chicks to a broody hen. She’s has been broody for about a week now. I put them under her and they went under her. I think it was just because it’s warm though. She flattened out to accommodate them all. I’m wondering if she would attack them or if they would even imprint on the broody hen. Thank you!

Earlier this year, I put 6 three week old chicks under a broody; it took them about 3 days or so before they imprinted, and were never quite as good at following her around.
But they were very happy together and overall it was a success
I did separate them from the flock, which I normally don't, as they were a bit inclined to get lost.

I had a broody that would set on a tennis shoe and adopt a Great Dane. Often she’d have 20 chicks around her and she never cared. 12 were hers and 8/10 of the other broody birds chicks would come to visit. She’d scratch and call to anything that would listen and learn.

I have an 8 month old sexlink that went broody and from the first week would attack anything that moves, and got worse after the hatch. She’s by far the best momma I’ve had.

I’d give her some time. As long as the older chicks have escape routes they will learn quickly to go away. As for her own, it’s a wait and see game. Hopefully you have the equipment to pull them and raise off to the side. Incubator warm and ready for hatch day, and your ability to be around enough to keep a diligent eye out would be ideal.
