Hello:) i have 12 quails, whom i love dearly:) 2 are males, and are silly birds:)
I want desperately to own a silkie chicken, they are like 50+ dollars around so i want to make sure i do not get one before I find out if i can add her to my flock safely. I was told that quails will not lay if kept with chickens, but what about just one soft silkie? does anyone have this unique experience? please let me know your thoughts, thanks bird community :)

Well, chickens oftin give quail sickness. I know some people keep them together but there's a risk that your quail will get sick.
(I also really want silkies they are so cute!)

I'm not sure about mixing chickens and quail, but I would like to mention that chickens are social and flock together and really would do best with at least one other chicken. Chickens and quail don't speak the same language ;)
If you raise it with the quail it might think it was a quail.
