Can I add silkies to my standards if I have a standard rooster, too?

I have a flock of standard sized chickens, and want to add a few silkies to the flock. Can I do this even if I have a rooster? Thanks in advance, Allie

Maybe.
Silkies are small and fragile, and can't fly. Some people have them in their mixed flock, while others have to have them in separate housing. If you are really determined to have them, have a plan for separate housing if Plan A fails, hopefully before any are really injured.

I have a mixed free-range flock of silkies, BIG Wyandottes, and tiny Cochins. They sleep in seperate coops but they all get along great. The W were not raised with the S and C and there has never been any issues.

We have a mixed bag here too, but no roosters. We have a barred rock, australorp, ameraucana, speckled Sussex, SLW, maran and faverolle.....living happily with two silkies. My white silkie is actually near the very top of the pecking order.
