Crowing
Thanks for replying! Hope she finds a home for the orpington. Prayers for your healing. Thanks to all the constructive feedback received here, I decided not to keep either roo. But I sure did want to keep the Orpington!
Eventually we’ll add another 4-6 to the flock but the timing just isn’t good. Had both knees replaced this year and the 2nd is making me slow to bounce back as hoped.
The leghorn was excommunicated (by the family not me) from the coop due to being a bully to the other rooster. He was left on the 2 acre property with food and water and many areas to take refuge. He lasted over 2 weeks, but haven’t seen him this week.I check on the property, flock and 2 barn cats 2-3 times a week.
Shared the issue with someone on IG with a huge following, after hearing about the disappearance of the leghorn and she kindly offered to help me rehome remaining cockerel (lavender Orpington). I sure hope that can happen before the family moves all the hens.
Thanks for asking![]()
