You remember I took in a hen 2 weeks ago....
We named her Lady. She was sweet and even my Mom liked her.
Then a dog snuck in and got her
. Kids now have permission to shoot any animal in the flank with the pellet guns they have. Until now they have only been allowed to shoot at the targets.....
Well she did lay two eggs before the D@*m Dog got her.... I used one for brownies and it had the Bull's Eye....
The other egg had just been laid the day before and promptly was pulled from the fridge!!! That was last Sunday the 8th
I had been reading Mrs Prissy's incubators posts... BUt is was too late to get parts....
I grabbed my thermometer and cranked the heat up on the electric blanket in my bed, It got up too 99-100..... I slept with that last egg for 4 nites
while getting the homemade incubator working and right.
I candled on nite 4 just to see.. I saw that spider inside!!!
It's been in the incubator and I've been watching i like a hawk just to be sure the temps and humidity is right.
I candled this morning and you can see it moving....
I have my fingers crossed, so do my kids. I do keep reminding them that things can still go wrong..... But I can say this is one persistant little egg, What a rough start!
