Can I Bond with Mature Drakes?

Well anything is possible I guess.I had to sell my entire flock of everything last fall. But after 2 week's of being back on the farm my brother who lives in a somewhat suburban area called and said he had 2 duck's on his porch. He brought them to me they are domesticated mallard's both drake's.He actualy picked the 2 duck's up and got them in a carrier so by no means were wild.I dunno where the guy's came from We kept watching ad's but nothing. They will eat from a cup etc. They like the small pond and have been safe and extremely friendly. These are the first duck's I have ever had outside raising th babies and growing them myself and I figured these guy's would be gone in a week or be just non social but I guess they part of the family now they are even getting used to the dog but will get on the water if he goes with but they come and get food.Im babying my 2 lil new cayuga's now they adorable.Good luck with your ducks.

Funny, my ducks don't really go for peas! They love mealworms, crickets, watermelon, endive, spiral wholemeal pasta (cooked) etc. My ducks sleep in the garage on the third story of our house in thier pens, then every morning they are let out the side door, and they all fly to thier massive lake across the road (size of approx150 football feilds!) then on dusk they all come waddling back across the road, walk up three flights of stairs, and tap on the side door to be let in. See my ducks have to be picked up one by one to go in thier pens of a night and same thing in the morning to let them out, So they get handled twice daily, that eventually leads to calmer ducks( in my case anyway) But before they are put in for the night, I bring out the treats! and most of my ducks literally jump in my lap to get at them! The blue fawn girl won't eat out of my hand yet, but I think i'll get there.
