i will be getting my first chickens in about 3 weeks. i will be converting an old barn into a coop with a small run. but i also want to free range the chickens. i worry about predators around here, we have coyotes, hawks, foxes, raccoons, opposums, and the occasional dog that people drop off. i want to build a tractor, but im wondering how todo that when the coop is seperate. do i carry the chickens out to the tractor to put them in there, or can i entice them in with treats? all the plans ive seen of the chicken tractors all have coops attached, im just wanting a portable run. has anyone else done this? of so can i see pics?
