I have a year os so old Dominique rooster who is VERY noisy. I am wondering if he would make a tasty snack rather than find a new home. He is well fed and well.

You can eat any chicken, although the older they are the tougher the meat will be.

At a year of age, you may want to consider ample marinade time in the fridge (a couple days...) brining him (do a search for brine) and/or using for slow cooking methods like stewing or crock pot.

Let us know how he turns out!

I don't see why not. Sounds like Sunday dinner to me!

Yes, you can. At 1 year old he might be fairly tough. You'll want to soak him in buttermilk or brine him to help tenderize the meat. You'll also want to let it rest 24 - 48 hours before cooking to help the meat relax.

You can

- stew him slow until the meat falls off the bones.

- pressure cook him

- soak in buttermilk over night, rinse - pressure cook him about 15 min then roll him in buttermilk and seasoned flour and fry off to a gold brown - yummmm fried chicken
