can I candle if day 21

I know i said you could but i would advise against it. By opening up the incubator to take the egg out you risk losing all the humidity such that the membranes inside the eggs dry up around the chicks reffered to on here as shrink wrapping them. This effectively binds them in a bag that they can't get out of and so they die in the egg.

I know it's difficult but try holding off until tomorrow. Some chicks are just slow to get round to hatching. If your temperature is a bit low they will take longer aswell.

If you do decide to candle make sure to add enough warm water to the bator to replace lost humidity.

P.s it's not the volume of water you add but the surface area. So you could add napkins soaked in water as a good method of raising the humidity.

wether it's a brody or a incubator. just be patient and by day 23 if there is nothing going on, grab one & candle.

I thought that if the eggs were under a hen that she will get rid of any bad eggs and only set on the good ones. Is that so?
