can I coop 3 month old birds and one week old chicks together?

I have 2- 3 month old white longhorn hens

and 6 mixed breed layer chicks about a week - 2weeks old. Can they all be housed together or will the big gals pick on/kill the babies?

They have been next to each other for 3 days now (the bigger two are in a dog kennel inside the coop so they have met the little ones, but the little ones can hide).

Thoughts?

I personally say that if they have to be cooped, that is too much of an age and size difference.

I think the big ones will hurt the little ones. You are better off to wait until the little ones can stand up for themselves.
