Can I do anything else?

Okay, so we have 20 chickens and our chicken coop is like, a half of a building kinda.

And we have a fence around it that's about 200 feet. But, our chickens ate ALL of the grass, and there is nothing left whatsoever, so they eat tons of food. We take them out of their fence sometimes, but we have to watch them constantly because of the neighbors...

My dad is thinking about expanding it a little, but is there anything else we can do?

I put wood pallets in my run to help with mud and started wondering if that might also be a good way to get the grass growing again...I'm not much of a gardener, but it was just a thought. There are about 2 inches of space between the pallets and the ground. Do you think grass will grow under it?
