Can I feed chive blossoms to my chickens?

Hi
My chives are blossoming and I don't want them too yet. So I pinched off all the unopened flower buds. Can I feed them to my chickens and started chicks?

dont think it would hurt them but they might not like the flavor of them. my chickens dont seem to like my chive plants although one got bit up a bit, all the pieces were spit out on the ground. figure i will have at least one flowering plant in the backyard with the chickens.-lisa

You should eat it! . I love them, you can dice them tiny and mix with sour cream or cream cheese.

If you let them flower the little florets look gorgeous covering a cheese ball or on salmon dip.

Yep, no problem.,

The flower parts are stronger flavored than the chive leaves, which is why they are so much better if you eat them with something that absorbs and spreads out the flavor. Like cream cheese or sour cream.

My favorite is to mix them up diced into salmon dip (mostly just smoked salmon and cream cheese) and then serve with some pretty chive florets and crackers.

You can also try chive blossom vinegar. It's so good!

My chickens and ducks don't eat chives.
