Can I feed my 5 day olds chives?

Hi,

They are on chick starter and I wanted to introduce something green and I've got some chives (young tender) in my garden that I thought I might be able to chop up and see if they like would eat it. I wanted to ask first if anyone knows if chives are ok for them? I looked on the chicken list of foods and didn't see them there.

I bet it would be okay to feed it.

they shouldn't eat any kind of vegetable without having grit first .... otherwise it won't be ground up properly in their gizzard
