can i feed my chicks and ducklings all flock

What is Angel Wing?
Angel wing is a musculoskeletal deformity in waterfowl, ducks and geese most notably, that comes of dietary imbalance during thier initial growth stages - its associated with both high carb diets (people throwing bread to birds in ponds) and very high protein diets (using turkey or game bird feed over 24% protein), though the exact mechanism isn't fully understood, and clearly has a genetic component besides.

Basically, it causes the wing joint to twist outwards, rendering the birds incapable of flight, and tends to be more pronounced on one side than the other.

What type of all flock are you using? For young birds use crumbles. I learned the hard way that not everything labeled all flock is for young birds. I do use Purina Flock Raiser for my ducklings and chicks. I have not needed to add extra niacin even for my Pekins. My birds are also free range, so that of course affects what nutrients they get as well.

Of the readily available commercial blends, Purina (I feel) is the best choice in All Flock/Flock Raiser types. Its Nutritional Analysis is closest to what the studies claim to be optimal. Not that the others are bad necessarily, just that Purina is best of the good.
