Can I feed parakeet seeds to quail

I saw that someone said they fed their quail parakeet feed does anyone else do that.

Parakeet seed does not have enough protien for Quail. You need game bird food ~20-24% protien.

If you are referring to coturnix quail, you can feed them parakeet seeds. But then you will also have to provide them the protein they need.

Males would do just fine on a diet of parakeet seed but females need more protein and calcium because they are producing so many lovely eggs.

I give mine 24% protein crumbles mixed with sunflower seed hearts, milo, cracked corn, red wheat and parched barley.
It's like candy to a child, so feed it sparingly or they will get to a point they won't eat the high protein crumbles, unless their really hungry. What usually happens is they will waste alot of the crumbles by scratching for the seeds.
