CAN I FEED PINTO BEAN PLANTS????

If I grow pinto beans, would the plant itself be okay for chickens? they will not get uncooked beans, only the green plant.
I live in the desert so they attack anything green. lol This wuld be a cheap treat for them if it won't hurt them. Any response is appreciated

I would give it to them and see what happens. Mine don't eat everything that grows, but the exceptions are rather limited.

If pinto beans are the same as other bean plants - "green beans" for instance, I think they would be okay. Mine have gotten into my garden in the spring and plucked my little plants and gobbled them down. No ill effects.
