Howdy, y'all. I've got a batch of meat birds this year, and I ordered my feed from New Country Organics. Unfortunately, I undercalculated the amount I need, and I have too little, and it's too expensive to order more. My question is, would it work to feed the chickens a couple bags of regular feed? I've got an option that's 20% protein at my local store that I could give them. They're about 8 weeks old, and only have a month left to grow. Would this be sufficient to grow them on, or not? Thank you in advance for all your responses.

A 20% chick grower feed would be totally fine. If they are older than about 5 weeks you could even go as low as 18% percent. Anything meant for chickens that isn't "layer" feed and between 18-22% protein would work great.

The 20% one is called all flock--- do you figure the calcium would be too high with that?
