I just didn't know if it was necessary for me to pick the head clean, or if I can just cut the stalk off at the knees and feed the chickens the entire sunflower?

I just chop of the seed head and toss it to them, but I leave the stalks in the field. I have a small field where I grow them just for the birds and keep a barrel full of them through the winter.

We just cut off the flower and toss it to the chickens. They'll do the picking!

Perfect! Thank you.

Thank you we took and picked all those seeds out of two of the sunflowers and that is way to much work so with the rest of them we will just throw the whole head to them.
