Our chickens don't get to range at all due to hawks, and other animals, but as I was out pulling weeds for the billioneth time, wishing I wasn't to chicken to handle chickens,

, I thought, "hey, my birds might like some weeds tossed to them." Can they have roots and all?
If I wasn't a scaredy cat, I'd work on a tractor for them to range.
I'll worm a hook, i won't touch a live fish. I'll hatch eggs all day long, I can't touch a chick on my own. They are so squishy, I'm scared I would squeeze it to death.

Depending when you are pulling weeds most are too tuff for chickens. But as long as they are not poionsous you are Ok with putting them in. Dandylions are great for chickens. Mine like clover and plantain too. Wild carrot i.e. queens anns lace would be great too.

I don't know what they are, just a few clover, few dandilion, and the majority get tall, have little yellowy/white flowera(not daisies) and squiggly leaves.
