I have five five week old chicks on starter grower, and five hens on (Layena?). I recently won 100 lbs of chicken starter.
It appears I am not going to be able to use all the grower before I combine the birds in one flock.
Is it ok to mix the starter grow with the layer pellets till it is either gone or they stop eating it?
I probably should add I will not be purchasing any chicks again.
So any new chicks will be hen raised.

I feed all my Chickens 7 months old and 35 months old, either a Non-Medicated Starter-Grower or a All-Flock/Flock Raiser Crumbles 18 to 20% Protein, with Oyster Shells separately.
Just use up the Layena and feed the Starter with Oyster Shells separately for the Layers.
Just mix some Starter with Layena in feeder when bag is nearly empty. If the Layena is Pellets you may need to raise the feeder to help prevent them from wasting. 20190311_050924.jpg .
They will love a higher Protein feed. My first Flock feather picked when I changed to a 16% Layers feed. GC

When combined don’t use layer feed till the younger hens start laying. Not enough protein I’d suggest staying on the starter feed then swap to Fock or keep starter/finisher.
