Can I give my chickens (3 mos. old) strawberries?

yes, you can. Mine are 3-4 weeks old and have been eating strawberries for a week. Just make sure they have grit if they are getting treats.

I would read up on oyster shell for chicks, way different from my understanding than grit and can really mess with a chick (but ok for layers). I use chick grit but my understanding is you can use sand or parakeet grit too as long as no extra calcium. I'm new but remember seeing that on other posts.

My 2 1/2 week old chicks got their first strawberries today and loved them. This is the first thing they have at least tried besides the chick food. No other item has enticed them so far to even take a try.

Have you dug up a worm yet? Just dangle it in front of them and WHAM! it's game on!

And it makes for a mighty fun show, too!!!

Yes, I agree. They absolutely love strawberries. Mine also love cantaloupe, especially my Polish Cresteds. They are all about 10 wks old.
