My chicks are almost 3 weeks old and they want nothing to do with new foods… i have tried to give small amounts of the mealworm treats, strawberry, and tomato and they either don’t care or seem confused/scared of it. (Also always have chick grit provided on the side of their brooder)
I feed them chick feed off my hand since 1 wk old but they don’t care for trying anything new..
I’ve raised chicks before and they would go CRAZY for the worms now they peck it then leave it on the ground?
I’m honestly just confused? Is there a reason for this? What should I do? It’s not harming them it seems they are happy chicks, eating, pooping, drinking, socializing just not caring for new food.

They have full access to food at all times but act like chick food on my hand is exciting yet actual new foods they are uninterested in

Normal for chicks to be reluctant or disinterested in new foods (and for one group to like one thing, and another to not want it at all). You can try "pecking" the ground with your fingers near the treats to see if that interests them. If not, I'd try again when they're older.
