I have a rooster,(a "hybrid") and a female astrolop, (not sure about spelling), that he loves to make sexy-time with.
whats getting me is that she never sits on her eggs for long, does this mean that he is sterile?
If hes not can I incubate the eggs?
Can you tell if an egg is fertile without breaking it?
Will a super hybrid have something wrong with it, or just look weird?
Can you eat fertile eggs without getting sick?

You must crack the eggs, but one egg is a good indicator that all are fertile. The rooster's sperm lives in the hen for a looooong time, so you can get many fertilized eggs (about a week's worth) from one mating. Even if the eggs are fertile, the hen won't set unless she feels like it, so if you want chicks go ahead and incubate them. And, we eat fertilized eggs all the time! As long as they don't have a chance to develop, they're edible!

And no, your chicks won't usuallu have anything wrong with them, they might look a bit funny, but nothing will be wrong from such a mating.

He is most likely not sterile, she will sit on them if she is broody.
if not she will just lay it and leave.

Its not a SUPER hybrid. Its just a hybrid that was brought into the world by some genetic happening.

you can eat fertile eggs just fine.

Please ask all the questions you want to. If someone thinks the question is stupid then they can just find something else to do. Most of us would rather they did. I am kinda new to BYC and MOST of the people here are very kind and happy to answer any question.

No such thing as a stupid question when looking for help.

I know right! Thanks!
The question was out of curiosity!
