If you can keep the temp and humidity at the correct levels for hatching and do it reliably, you can use anything that works it doesn't matter what your incu looks like or how it operates. However, I'd test it out for a week or so with temps and humidity before putting eggs in it.

I used a 100 watt bulb in a space with a little over a cubic foot. It easily reached 100+ degrees. It was fun to build and try out! Hope you have as much fun as I did!!
