can i introduce a new rooster

is it ok to put a silkie rooster in a flock of 25 hens and 2 buckeye roosters? ive read that they will fight to the death if you put a new roo in but ive also read they will just squable a little and then be fine

I think it depends on the roo's, are they docile? I have a roo that will fight with the newcoming roo's, but never hurts them. All the new roo's I have added have accepted that he is the boss and it's ok. I was afraid they would fight to the death like they say, but hasn't happened yet. I always trim spurs before adding new roo's (could do the beaks too). Good luck!

my silkie roo is very docile but i have to get rid of him because of the crowing and the farm im giving him to has farley friendly buckeyes

My guess is that he will be regarded as a challenger by the resident roosters. If a fight starts, it may be bad for him since the Buckeyes are so much larger. They will also probably act as a team against the silky.
