well, i purchased the 7 wk olds from ahappychick, 5 of'em...they're adorable and funny.

i just couldn't stand it anymore......

they look pretty happy here. yesterday, was their first day here, i put them in their own pen, good thing, the bigger girls didn't konw what to think, but when i gave the lil ones grapes, the older girls got a lil jealous!!!
but waited very nicely for them to throw the grapes out of the pen....
hwew's some pics, i didn't get pics of the black ones, they looked blurry every time i took one. the lil white one likes to have her pic taken, she was in almost of my pics.

FYI- i only have one white silkie....

I'm thrilled...DH wasn't to happy, tho...

can you tell already? is it really a cockerel? It doesn't have a wattle, where as one of my black has a small wattle starting.

The one on the left seems to have a wider comb and it is fuller. I don't always get it right but if I had to guess based on what I have learned, I would say roo.

My first thought was "white cockerel" too! Heavier beak, just a manly, hawkish expression. Time will tell. Tell your husband that officially speaking, "Silkies don't count!" Tell him I said so!

...i think he's getting over it. He brought home a bigger box, b/c i put them in my sunroom at night for now...

Last night he had a plate w a sign that said "girls" on it...leftover celery, it's for the bigger girls tho...

but at least he's acknowledging them!

So my lil black silkie with the wattle, do you think that it's a cockerel, too? I'll be able to get more pics today, no more school, so my son can help (it's a 2 man job!)

can you tell by the saddle feathers, like a lot of the other birds? I would take more pics of that part of the body.
