Can i keep ducks with chickens

i have 3 hens and a rooster in a large area to walk around in. Can i put 2-3 ducklings with them. Or would they fight or what?

Generally they do better separated. Ducks are very messy and love to splash around(even in water bowls) and mud etc. Chickens do not like being wet.
