Hi I was wondering if it would be ok to leave a chick in an incubator until he had a friend

Yes you can. Chicks can survive on the yolk they absorb prior to hatch for up to 72 hours.

I personally usually like to wait 24 hours after hatch or when the incubator is full to remove fluffed up dried chicks to the brooder.
