Any time you free range you have to weigh risk vs reward. You will loose ducks eventually. The good news is hawks will only kill one at a time.

Well I only have 2 so I don’t think I’ll let them roam free much

That’s the purpose of being out with them. That way if something was to happen you’d be there to intervene.
