I got a button quail last 4th of July, and I have only one but I try to give him much attention but, I have seen that when I try to hold him or pet him, He always I scared of me! I've tried before to make him trust me but nothing has worked. Help!

I don't have much experience with quail, but treats are always my go-to method of getting any animal to be a little more friendly. Try sitting very still near him and throwing a few treats by your feet. If he eats those, then you can throw them closer and closer until he will eat out of your hand. From there, you can lure him onto your arm or lap. Let him come to you. It may take a few days or even weeks for him to build up some trust. He may not always be super friendly, but it should help. Some birds prefer to sit on you rather than be held.

It depends on what you mean by tame, how tame? Some of my king (button) quails are tame enough to take food from my hand and aren't as terrified of me as the other ones, but they don't appreciate being held or really any interaction at all. I don't think you'll have much luck taming him to the point of him loving being handled or petted.

I do have one king quail who loves being held and hugged daily, but it is a long story of her being rejected by her parents and being raised alone by me from day one. So what I'm getting at is that an older king quail will be really hard to tame and I don't think they'd really love the petting or handling.

As @diamondsilkies suggested, treats are your best bet.
